What is used here.
English text uses your device’s system fonts. Chinese source labels use a small, locally hosted subset of Noto Sans SC, at regular weight. The font file is 7,228 bytes; it is not the complete font family.
Keeping these characters locally lets a source retain its original Chinese wording without loading fonts from another company while you read.
Where it came from.
The subset was retrieved through Google Fonts on . Its upstream project is Noto CJK.
Noto Sans SC is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 — full text. We include that licence with the local font. The original Google Fonts licence record is also available.
Characters retained.
The subset contains only the characters needed for the published source locators; this is not a translation or a separate research claim.
