ACCOUNTABILITY / UPDATED 12 SEPTEMBER 2026

The record
can change.

Corrections should be as inspectable as the original claim. We keep material differences visible instead of silently reconciling them.

Document a correction.

Use the ResearchFundflows repository issue tracker for a source-backed correction request. Repository access may be required. This edition does not provide an email address or a submission form.

Include the edition and section, the exact statement or data field, its source ID, an original-source URL and page/row locator, and the proposed correction with its relevant date. Separate a changed source from an error in our reading of it. Do not include private addresses, credentials or irrelevant personal information.

Acknowledging a report is not accepting its claim. Substantive changes require checking the supporting record. We do not promise a response time.

What remains unresolved.

  • Edition 01: WIV-labelled USAspending rows total $598,500; OIG Table 7 gives $598,611. The $111 difference remains unexplained.
  • Edition 01: the School of Public Health row total $201,217.10 differs from OIG’s $201,221 by $3.90.
  • Edition 01: Duke’s NIH and USAspending overall project-end dates differ. Both source-specific dates are retained.
  • Edition 02: the CIP row’s participant field says Active while its project status says Withdrawn. These are different columns; neither is silently overwritten.
  • Edition 02: no withdrawal date/reason, executed grant agreement or cancellation instrument was obtained. The £0 spend field is not a substitute for a full transaction audit.

Unresolved differences are not allegations. A correction must earn its place with evidence too.

Edition history.

Collection 1.0 · two completed editions

Added the independent researchfundflows.com collection: home, methods, corrections, dates, source navigation and curated downloads. Edition 01’s financial findings, source IDs, original-name rows and caveats are unchanged. Public copies have collection navigation and portable links.

Edition 02 · QRVCSELs status and identity case

The initial feasibility lookup had no exact-name workbook match for the Centre for Integrated Photonics. The targeted follow-up found a misspelt “Photoncis” row, joined by company number 04905488, under withdrawn project 133181. That replaces the earlier scoped nonmatch with an identified record; it does not convert the conditional proposal into a paid award.

Added the same-acronym project 103444 control and a separately typed Huawei UK corporate-control record. Read edition 02 →

Edition 01 · NIH/EcoHealth/WIV and Duke/Kunshan

Completed the documented historical funding path and the nonfinancial affiliation control. Retained the $111 and $3.90 differences, institutional identity limit, Duke period mismatch and no award-specific DKU transfer finding. Read edition 01 →

No silent substitutions.

A correction identifies the old statement, the new statement, the affected source/field, the effective date and the reason. Withdrawn conclusions remain in the edition history; new evidence is not retroactively described as available at the original cutoff.

Source-access failures, spelling normalization and presentation fixes are distinguished from substantive changes.
